All I need is You

It would be my 3rd month working in MS in 10 days time. Time seems to pass very quickly, it seems that I've worked in MS for quite long already. Working life been good except that it can be quite mundane. God really blessed me with this job, I mean my office is quite near my house (God knows that I dun like to wake up early...haha), salary not too bad, colleagues are great (I'm training to view ppl as God would view them Himself) and what's more my boss is one of the better ones I've met. Though there's one FTE who has this "dun-mess-around-with-me-I've-got-a-parang-in-my-drawer" look on her face.

Recently, I was reading a book and in the book it mentioned this old lady whose name is Mabel. This old lady strapped up in a wheelchair. She was blind, 1 ear was almost deaf, 1 side of her face was being eaten up by cancer. There was a discolored and running sore covering part of 1 cheek and it had pushed her nose to 1 side, dropped one eye, and distorted her jaws. She drooled constantly. What so extraordinary is not her face but her faith. When asked abt what does she think abt when she lie in the hospital, her reply was:"I think about my Jesus." I thought for a moment abt the difficulty, for me, of thinking about Jesus for even 5 mins!

And when asked about what does she think about Jesus, her reply:"I think about how good He's been to me. He's been awfully good to me in my life. I'd rather have Jesus. He's all the world to me."

Incredible it may seem, a human being really lived like this. I think, Mabel had something that most of us don't have much of. She had power. Lying there in that bed, unable to move, unable to see, unable to hear, unable to talk to anyone, she had incredible power.

Imagine being in her condition and saying, "I think about how good He's been to me. He's been awfully good to me in my life..." Her life consisted of following Jesus as best she could in her situation: patient endurance of suffering, solitude, prayer, meditation on Scripture, worship, fellowship when it was possible, giving when she had a flower or a piece of candy to offer.

This is the 23rd Psalm come to life:"The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want."

Truly, how many of us who professed that we are christians, really know God? Would really celebrate His goodness when we are suffering?

I pray that there will come a day, when ppl asked me what do I do in my past time and I will confidently tell them this:

"I think about my Jesus..."

I dunno how my description abt life in MS has led to this... but...thought provoking...

You hold everyone on earth...
