Remedy for rejection pt 1

I've been listening to Derek Prince's sermons and reading his books lately. And one of the topics that intrigue me most is rejection. Most of us during out walk in life surely experience rejection. Some suffered more than the other. I decided to find out more on that and outline it to share with you. I find it very helpful for myself.

First of all, what is rejection? It's a feeling of not belonging, unwanted or worthless. In Proverbs 18:14 says: "The spirit of a man will sustain him in sickness, but who can bear a broken spirit?". In another translation says a "wounded spirit". A wounded spirit goes beyond our conscious mind (it's beyond what our conscious mind can apprehend). It often stems from some experience in early childhood but our conscious mind can't endure that experience and blocks it out. But it's not blocks out from our spirit and so the wound continues in our spirit. "Who can bear a broken spirit?" and that takes away strength and the joy of living. A wound that saps out our life. It can arrive during childhood and sometimes even before birth. The mother may have negative attitudes toward this unborn child. Most of the time the child experience rejection due to the lack of manifestation of love in the family.

The primary result is the inability to receive/communicate with love. None of us can love when we can't receive love. In 1 John 4:19, it says: "We love because He first loved us." This can pass on from generation to generation. E.g a little gal was born into a family where she can't experience love, she has that sense of rejection so she can't communicate love. In due course, she marry and becomes a mother. She has a daughter and she can't communicate love with the daughter. So the daughter developes the same problem as the mother. Hence, it becomes a cycle. It has to be cut off.

The secondary results: there are 3 main ways which a person may react.
-the person who gives in - have this "I-can't-fight-and-I-give-up" attitude.
-the person who holds out - Being indifferent and desperately trying to appear happy. "I have been hurt so badly once, I'll never let anyone hurt me again."
-the person who fights back - it normally leads to resentment, hatred, rebellion then to witchcraft. They normally come from well-to-do family. They normally have good qualifications etc. but they lacked real love.

Whoa... it's too long and it's quite late now. In my next post, I'll share with you the practical steps of the remedy for rejection.
