23 more days to Timor with love...

Yep! 23 more days and I'll be on my way to East Timor. A nation which achieved her full independence in 2002. For the past 3 years, no one has since stepped into their territory. The Timorese were abandoned and forgotten by the outside world. The country is still in the process of building up its infrastructure, administration and recovering from the damages during the Indonesian occupation.

This year J21 will be sending many teams to East Timor to bless and make friends with the Timorese. And my team will be going to this city- Maliana in the Bobonaro district, and it happens to be the border between the East Timor and the West Timor (Indonesia). And it was the place where the Timorese suffered much violence during the invasion by the Indonesian some 30 years ago. Think we'll do lotsa prayer roaming ard the border area. Man...I'm sure this will be the most challenging mission trip I've ever been to so far. But I'm excited!

We're gonna do lotsa sports with the Timorese - playing ball games and frisbee! Yeah learn how to play frisbee today, it wasn't as easy as I thought. And we actually have a frisbee team in Singapore. It's a game mix and match between rugby and captain's ball. And it is also a game which requires no empire, it's all based on mutual trust between your team and the opponents.

23 more days...
