Ho Domin Ba Timor accomplished!
Touched down at Changi airport at 7.25pm. As the plane was approaching the airport, saw the numerous lamp posts lighted up the highways, the streets of Singapore. I have not walked on a lighted street for 1 wk in East Timor! I'm deprived of good & clean toilets, fresh & edible water, lighted streets, fans (dun even bother mentioning air-con), even mirrors and many more!!
Couldn't help but after this trip to East Timor, I really really really thank God that I'm living in S'pore. The ppl in East Timor (at least those villages and certain parts of the capital I've visited) literally living in darkness. The present state of the capital-Dili itself is like the 50s or 60s of S'pore. This nation really needs help, currently the infrastructures either were destroyed by the war or they do not have the resources to fix it.
We did lotsa prayer roaming, intercession for this nation during this trip to break grounds esp for my team. We are sort of like pioneering teams being launched out to different districts paving the way for more missionaries/alliance to come to East Timor in future.
The weather there was super hot and super humid, and they dun have fans there except for the hotel we stayed in. Came back darker...hehe.
Water is precious there, there was once when we were in the village, we had to collect rain water to flush our toilet! Even in the hotel, the shower water drips forever! When I returned to S'pore, turned on the tap still thinking that the water will drip forever.
The food there is marvelous! Though it's flies-infested (yes! many mossies + flies), every morning we'll buy 5 cents flies-infested bread from the market for brekker. Initially, it was quite irritating that wherever we go, there'll be flies swarm ard us...but as days passed we don't really bother anymore.
The security in the village we visited quite bad...ppl can just budge in. Anyway, we are safe and sound.
There so many things to share abt East Timor...but now I'm getting very sleepy. Back there, we usually sleep ard 10 plus (Sg time) cos it'll be 11 plus Timor time. Daily we had an average of 5-6 hrs of sleep.
Man... I missed my team mates!! We 'suffered' together for 8 days. They are real fun ppl...and they even invited me to attend their youth service every alt sat!
And oh!! East Timor is beautiful...all the raw beauties!! Will post the link when the pixs are done.
Can't wait for Fever06 in Feb.
Ok... really very sleepy....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Thank God for the experiences You've given me during those precious and wonderful days in Timor. Maromak diak (God is good in Tetum)!!!
