My journey in Timor...day 5

Worship led this morning during team devotion. God impressed on me that I should sing these few songs: 1) History makers (we are the pioneering teams here in East Timor, I prayed that we all will be the history makers on this land & encourage more to come), 2) Give us clean hands (I feel that we have a need to ask God to purify our hearts, turned from our wrong ways & serve Him with clean hands & pure hearts), 3) How great is our God (we can be history makers because we are serving a great God!), 4) How great Thou art (sing praises to Him!). It was my 1st time leading a group of ppl into a time of P&W session, but it went well! Praise the Lord! I couldn't have done it w/o Him.

After team devotion, we went to visit the Maliana market (it only operates every tues & sat I think) to buy our brekker - which is a 5 cent bun.

The buns are so hard that it can knock you unconscious!!

A typical market in East Timor...

After brekker, we went to meet the village chief of Lahomea. He brought us to his office and we chatted. He showed us the statistic of the population in Lahomea.

The chief brought us to view his village. The walk to his village was challenging & physically demanding. We gotta walk on this narrow path where the left side was flowing waters and the other side is quick sand! We did balancing acts on that narrow path!

After 30-40 mins of walking...we finally reached the end of the village. We stopped for a while to rest before we start praying for the village. Coincidentally, the place we prayed was also the place where the villagers will gather and worship an old banyan tree.

Villagers will gather here to worship the banyan tree...

After the walk, we proceed back to have lunch. I got sunburnt today!!! *Ouch* Went to back to our lodging to rehearse for the songs & dance for celebration night tomorrow. There wasn't any water in 1 of our toilets but thank God it rained...and so some of us quickly gathered buckets to collect the rain water to flush the toilet.

At around 4 plus, we trekked up the hill to visit a radio station which only broadcast 3 days a week. People working there are actually volunteers.

The radio station...

They only have 2 PCs:

1 for sound editing...

The other for playing MP3s over the air...
