My journey in Timor...day 6

The Roman Catholic church...

View from the hilltop guesthouse...
We worshipped and prayed at the hilltop. More intercession. We proceed back to have lunch then back to the house to pack the goodies for the villagers. Ps Bee, Jimmy & some interpreters went to visit a wake, a man just passed away due to malaria.
The drunk man came to our house again, and it scared the wits out of some gals. It was raining super heavily, we took a Microlet (super mini van) to the sub-district administrator office for the celebration night. It was pitch dark. Suddenly out of nowhere, a bunch of drunkards appeared and started to throw things and create a commotion. We quickly hide inside the office and pray silently.

Aurelia, Mich and myself posing before the event started...
Not many ppl turned up for the celebration night. Quite disappointed to be honest. The whole event ended ard 9 plus - 10 at night. Ps Bee received call from Lishan telling us to pray when we leave for Dili tomorrow. Because her bus met with an accident. The road was slippery, the driver wasn't alert and the bus knocked on to something. The front part of the bus caved in. It nearly overturned and fell into the river.
After our team debrief, 2 of our interpreters suddenly gripped with fear because both remembered that they didn't wash their hands after visiting the wake. They believed that if a person didn't wash his/her hands before they leave the wake, the spirit of the deceased will follow that person. Ps Bee explained to them that they needn't fear because He who is inside us is greater than he who is in the world. And we prayed for the both of them. It was quite sad that even protestants are so superstitious on this land.
